Q: Why is working through Hired Hands Inc. better than getting a job on
my own?
A: Working through Hired Hands has many advantages to being employed
directly.
1.
First, we do the legwork of finding a great job for you.
We match your skills and experience with a position that interests you,
and then we represent you to that company.
When you show up to an interview with our recommendation, you’ve
already got a leg up on the competition!
2.
Second, when you’re on a temp or temp-to-hire assignment as a Hired
Hands employee, we’re your advocates. We
do everything in our power to make sure that the fit is right and you’re
provided with a fair, comfortable work environment.
3.
If we make a match that doesn’t turn out to be perfect…no sweat!
We’ll continue to hunt for the best situation.
After all, happy employees are successful employees!
Q:
What types of jobs are available through the Office Support Services
department?
A:
We staff all types of administrative office positions, from very simple
reception and filing, to high level full-time Office Management and Executive
Assisting, and everything in between. We
do Part-time, Full-time, Temporary, Temp-to-Hire, and Direct Hire placements.
Q:
What is the difference between Temporary, Temp-to-Hire, and Direct Hire?
A:
Temporary jobs are based solely on the current needs of the
client. A company may use a Hired
Hands employee on a temporary basis to cover for a regular employee who is
absent, or to help out on a special project, or whenever they need an extra set
of hands. A temporary position can
last anywhere from 4 hours to months on end.
Temp-to-Hire positions are
on-going temporary, with the intent of finding the perfect person for the job. Many companies prefer to try an employee on a temporary basis
before committing to a hiring situation. After
both parties are satisfied with the match, the company and employee may decide
to transfer the employee onto the company’s payroll.
In a Direct Hire placement
situation, Hired Hands presents a candidate to a company that is looking to hire
right away (without a temporary period). After
we have met, screened, thoroughly reference checked and discussed the position
with an applicant, we send the resume and our recommendation to the client.
If the company is interested in the candidate, we arrange an interview.
Hired Hands will represent the candidate until a position has been
offered and accepted. In this case,
a transfer onto the company’s payroll is done immediately.
Q:
How do I sign up and start working???
A:
The best first step is to email (or fax) your
resume along with a short cover stating what types of positions you are
interested in. Full time?
Part time? Temporary?
Long-term? After we
receive the resume and have a chance to review it, you will receive a follow-up
call to further discuss your employment outlook.
In most cases, we will schedule you for an interview here at the Hired
Hands office. You will fill out our
registration paperwork, as well as talk in-depth with a Staffing Coordinator
about your skills, your experience, and most importantly, who you are and where
you’d be happiest and most successful! The
paperwork and interview will take approximately one hour.
Q:
How can I get called for the most temp work???
A: 1.
Be available! Employees
with the greatest range of availability will be able to accommodate various job
schedules.
2.
Be flexible! Being open to
many job locations, pay rates and industries is key to getting lots of
calls and lots of temp assignments.
3.
Keep your skills current! Our
clients count on employees who come equipped with the right skills for the job.
4.
Keep in touch! Employees who
check in at least once a week and let us know their availability are showing
initiative and their eagerness to work!
Q:
What can I expect to be paid for working in the Office Services division?
A:
Our temporary assignments generally pay between $12 and $17 per hour,
depending on the position and level of skill needed.
Q: What types of
companies does Hired Hands work with?
A: We work with all types of
businesses, from tiny home-based companies to large corporations.
We service all of Marin and Sonoma Counties.
Q: What if I change
my mind about job focus, salary requirement, or anything else that was
established in the interview?
A:
We understand that employment is a journey, not an end result. Your focus, your areas of interest, your job parameters, and
anything else that was discussed in your interview might change along the way.
Hired Hands is here to help you! We
want to know what makes you happy all the time, not just when we first meet.
The more information we have about you, the easier it will be to find you
a great match…even if that changes.
Q: What if I refer
someone else to Hired Hands?
A: Great question! We’re
always searching for talented employees, as well as wonderful new clients. Nothing flatters us more than your recommendation to a friend
or family member. When you refer
someone to Hired Hands and they become a new employee or client that utilizes
our services for 100 hours, you will receive a check for $100.00!
If that employee or client ends up in a direct hire arrangement – we
will send you $100.00!
